Long-tailed Duck- Ice conditions off the coast have made Glace Bay Harbour an excellent place for viewing ducks and photographing them.

Bohemian Waxwing - A small flock remain in Lingan, and Lori McPhee reported a few in the Ashby Area of Sydney with an American Robin. Large flocks of Bohemian Waxwings reported in the area in fall have moved on after cleaning up on the berry crop.
Canvasback - Glace Bay Harbour
Red-headed Woodpecker - This red-headed woodpecker arrived in the fall and is visiting the feeders of Bernie and Donna VanDonick and Wayne and Joan Connors both of George St., New Waterford.
Lapland Longspur - South St., Glace Bay -18 C
American Robins have invaded Cape Breton- They will clean up on any mountain-ash berries, apples, crab apples and multi-flora rose hips they can find before moving on. Sick or injured birds my get left behind and feed on any fruit or berries left to them. We pick and freeze mountain-ash berries every fall. We put them out for any bird species that might need to feed on them during the winter months.
