We left Cape Breton on a "Road Trip" to travel the Labrador Highway on August 4, 2011 returning on August 20,2011. We are posting here some of the highlights of our trip. We crossed the Cabot Strait on the Blue Puttees. The seats in the Bar area, beyond the Met Restaurant face out the bow. We could view clearly seabirds like Atlantic Puffin, Black Guillemot, Black-legged Kittiwake, Leach's Storm-Petrel, Wilson's Storm-Petrel, Northen Fulmar, Sooty Shearwater, Great Shearwater, Manx Shearwater, Red Phalarope, and Northern Gannet. We arrived in Port-aux-Basques and travelled up the west side of Newfoundland heading for St. Anthony.

From Stephenville Crossing we made our next stop at Gros Morne National Park, then on to Pistolet Bay Provincial Park and St. Anthony to see icebergs.

We crossed the Strait of Belle Isle at St. Barbe, NL to Blanc Sablon, Qc and followed the Highway to Labrador City.

American Three-toed Woodpecker - on the new highway between Port Hope Simpson and Happy Valley, Goose Bay, Labrador
Spruce Grouse- on the highway between Happy Valley, Goose Bay, and Labrador City, Labrador
Double Rainbow- close to the 54th parallel on the highway between Happy Valley, Goose Bay, and Labrador City, Labrador
From Labrador City we made our way south to Baie Cameau then southwest to Tadoussac, Qc.

Bonaparte's Gull- Tadoussac, Qc
Other Highlights of our trip were Pomarine Jaeger, Parasitic Jaeger, Rough-legged Hawk, Rusty Blackbird, Willow Ptarmigan, Black-backed Woodpecker, and Gray-cheeked Thrush.
